Farmers offer thieves UPI payments to spare tubewell motors
After dozens of tubewell motors vanished in a single night, Punjab farmers came up with an unusual solution: asking thieves to take digital payments instead.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has voluntarily offered all possible help and assistance in dealing with the flood situation caused by the overflowing Satluj, Beas, and Ravi rivers in Fazilka and Firozepur districts of neighbouring Punjab.
Demonstrating humane and sensitive responsiveness, Sharma spoke to his Punjab counterpart, Bhagwant Mann, over the telephone on Monday afternoon and conveyed Rajasthan’s readiness to extend all possible support in relief and rescue operations in the affected districts.

Taking suo motu initiative, the Chief Minister also issued directives to district authorities in Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, and other districts along the Punjab–Rajasthan border to extend all necessary help to their counterparts across the interstate boundary.

Sharma has further urged elected representatives in the border areas to play an active and constructive role in supporting the flood-affected districts of the neighbouring state.
